What satisfaction is there in having things so easy? It's really in the nature of things that we sweat and toil for the things we love and want, and if it all came to us just like that, then it probably isn't worth it.

Easy is for losers. Doesn't mean it's not tempting, though.

I had a classmate in Fiction class last semester named Iggy. He was probably the best writer among the lot of us, even though he was always red in the face. I like to think that he was suffering from the characteristic shyness I think all writers are afflicted with, but really, I think he might just always feel hot.

An addendum to the motto of my life:

There are many reasons, but there are almost no excuses. Shame is unnecessary, but trying to fix things will always be worth something. 

I am floored by this feeling of extreme and overwhelming gratefulness that I am at this particular point in my life where everything makes sense.

I understand, with a clarity that can slice bread, that the gamble I had made DID in fact pay off and that things could be so much worse.
